The video formats you can upload are MOV, MP4, AVI or WMV, and the file size must be 300MB or less.
The image formats are: JPG /JPEG, PNG or GIF. You can also upload PDFs. There are no size limits for images and PDFs. If you're having trouble it may be because you're trying to select a file that has an unsupported format, or is too big.
How to find out what format your file is
Look at the extension at the end of the name (e.g. 'storypark-image.JPG'), or if it does not have an extension, right click the file and select 'Properties' (if you are using a PC) or 'Get info' (if you are using a Mac).
Changing a file's format
This will vary a little depending on the file, your computer system, and your settings, but this is the most common way:
Open the file you want to change by double-clicking it.
Click 'File'.
Click 'Save As' (or 'Export' if there is no 'Save As' option).
Select one of the formats listed above.
Click the 'Save' button (or 'Export' button if there is no 'Save' button).
Uploading HEIC files
This largely depends on your workflow of saving and/or uploading images to Storypark.
If you upload images to Storypark from the Storypark for Educators app or from Safari on an iPhone or iPad it converts images to .jpeg files automatically for you. This means you could upload the images into a draft, save that and then continue the Story on a computer if you prefer.
If you prefer to upload the images from your device to a computer and then upload those saved images from the computer, you just need to change your device's camera settings. What this looks like is going to Apple's Settings app, then selecting Camera and then Formats.
The formats there are 'High Efficiency' and 'Most Compatible', if you switch over to 'Most Compatible' then you'll be able to save any images taken by the camera on your device onto a computer and then upload them from the computer to Storypark.
You can also convert HEIC files to JPG /JPEG using software if you prefer.
Resize video files
If your video file is too big this article explains 3 ways you can resize video files.
Media limits
In some areas of Storypark media limits impact the number of media that can be published.
Planning - Each plan has a media limit of 125 items.
This means across the cells and comments in each plan, there can be any combination of up to 125 images and/or videos. Once the limit is reached, the camera and video buttons on cells and comments will be greyed out and unable to be selected.
Stories - Some organisations have the ability to set their own media limit for story published at their services on Storypark.
If a media limit has been set, authors will be advised on screen and prevented from publishing a story if it exceeds the limit chosen by their organisation.
Media limits apply to any images, videos and PDFs uploaded into a story (individual or group).
