A stock is a type of investment that represents an ownership share in a company. They trade on stock exchanges like the NASDAQ and NYSE.
How do I sell stock?
To enter a manual order to partially sell your stock holdings, just follow the steps below:
At the bottom of the page, tap on "Trade"
Search for a stock you own and tap on it.
Tap on "Sell"
Enter the amount you would like to sell.
Review your order and tap "Confirm Sell"
If you wish to close (sell) the full stock position, you just need to follow the steps below:
Use the button "Close all"
Tap on “Review”
Tap on “Confirm sell”
Your market order is now created!
After closing a position, the transaction needs to “settle” before you can withdraw these funds to your bank account. The settlement period is the trade date plus two trading days. On the third day, those funds will be available for withdrawal.
IMPORTANT: Regular trading hours for the US stock market are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on business days (non-business days and certain holidays are excluded).
