What are Notes of Interest?
A note of interest is a formal way for a potential buyer's solicitor to inform a seller's agent of their interest in a property, ensuring they are notified if a closing date for offers is set. It is a non-binding signal that the buyer wants the opportunity to make an offer but does not commit them to doing so. The value is that the buyer will be alerted if a closing date is established and can then decide whether to submit a formal offer.
Note - Notes of Interest are a requirement in Scotland only and therefore only a feature for agents with properties in Scotland.
