Confidential Contacts
The Confidential Contacts feature is designed to protect personal information when dealing with sensitive situations, such as divorces or non-amicable vendor relationships. It ensures that certain contacts do not have their details shared with other parties during the sales process.
When a person is marked as a confidential contact, their correspondence address and personal information are excluded from shared documents, and communications are handled separately to maintain privacy.
Marking a Person as a Confidential Contact
To mark an owner as a confidential contact, head to their owner page and click the Confidentiality button at the top right.
From here you can toggle on the 'confidential contacts' check box and click confirm.
Note - You do not have to mark every single person in an ownership as a confidential contact, as the confidential contact flag is linked to all owners.
You can additionally mark vendors as being confidential contacts when creating a property or valuation.
How are Confidential Contacts Identified
When a person is marked as a confidential contact you will see a confidential contact pill on the owners page (and property).
Additionally you will also see a banner notification in various places in Street to alert you that confidential contacts are involved including when sending emails and generating a sales memorandum.
What areas of Street are impacted by Confidential Contacts
Memorandum of Sale
When sending the sales memo for a confidential contact, you will see the banner at the top highlighting that each owner of a property will be sent an individual copy of the Memorandum of Sale that does not reference the other owners personal information meaning the correspondence address of each owner will not show.
You can click 'view' to see what that person's memo of sale will look like, to confirm the correspondence address is not shared.
For example, below is Lucy's sales memo and Liam's address is removed, due to being marked as confidential contacts.
Documents and Emails
When generating a document or an email from a page associated with a person marked as a confidential contact (for example, the property page), any merge fields that would normally display personal information - such as email address, phone number, or correspondence address - will be left blank.
