Frequently Asked Questions (Consumer App)

Is the Street Consumer App available outside the UK?

Yes, the app is published worldwide on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. Customers who are travelling or living abroad can download and use it as normal.

Does the app work in any language other than English?

No, currently the app and its store listing are English only.

My customer is travelling abroad, will the app work?

Yes. The app works normally in any country, with the exception of some limitations in mainland China (see below).

What are the limitations for customers in mainland China?

iPhone - Customers can download the app if they have a UK (or any non-China) Apple ID. The app is not listed in the China App Store, so it won't be available to anyone using a China-region Apple ID only. Most UK-based customers already have a UK Apple ID, so this is rarely an issue in practice.

Android - Phones sold in mainland China (such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo) typically ship without the Google Play Store, so the app can't be installed through the usual route. If the customer is using a UK-bought Android phone, it should work fine.

Push notifications - Android push notifications in mainland China are known to be unreliable because they depend on Google's notification service, which is blocked. iPhone notifications generally work. This is a network restriction, not a Street issue - using a VPN may help.

Note - Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan work as normal, as these are separate App Store and Google Play regions from mainland China.

My customer has moved abroad permanently - should they keep using the app?

Yes, for as long as they have an active relationship with your agency. The app is a window into their UK property transaction - it doesn't matter where the customer is physically located (with the mainland China caveats above).

The app won't open or is stuck loading for a customer abroad. What should I do?

First, check they're on the latest version of the app. If they're in mainland China, ask whether they're using a VPN - without one, parts of the app may be slow or unresponsive. If neither helps, confirm the device model, operating system version, country, and a screenshot, then contact our Live Chat support team.
