Signed documents: what to do if not everyone has signed

Checking who has signed an e-signature document, and your options if a recipient doesn't need to sign

Written by Hannah Malarky Andrew

When you send a document for e-signature, every recipient has to sign before the signed copy is created. This article explains what you'll see while a document is partly signed, and what to do if someone doesn't need to sign.

Checking who has signed

Open the document's e-sign card, for example the Esign Documents card on the property or the Terms of Business step. Each recipient shows as 'Signed' with the date, or 'Not Signed'. You can click 'Resend' next to anyone who hasn't signed yet.

Can I download a partly signed copy?

No. Until everyone has signed, 'View Document' opens the original, unsigned document. Street doesn't create a copy with only some of the signatures.

Once all recipients have signed, the card changes to 'Signed'. 'View Document' then opens the signed copy and 'View Audit Trail' appears. For documents created from a template, such as Terms of Business, the signed copy is also saved to the property's Documents & Files.

If a recipient doesn't need to sign

You can't remove a recipient once a document has been sent. If someone was added who doesn't need to sign:

  • Click 'Cancel Document' on the e-sign card. You can add a note, which appears in the activity stream. This can't be undone.

  • Create and send a new document with only the people who need to sign. The usual e-signature charge applies to the new document.

Note - If someone has already signed and you don't want to ask them to sign again, contact us on live chat with the property address and the document name. The support team can then provide a copy of the part signed agreement.

Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
