How to Edit a Property Address in Street
Street makes it simple to edit a property, giving you two key areas areas that allow you to edit an address. The one you choose depends on the reason for editing it.
Editing the Actual Address in Street
If you are looking to edit the actual address in Street, for example to correct a house number or to add a flat number, head to the property page and click Edit > Edit Property:
Next, click the cross on the address line and search for the correct postcode:
Here, you can either select the correct address from the list (ie correcting the house number) or click 'add address' to enter a manual address (ie adding a flat number):
If selecting an existing address from the list, simply click the address.
Note - It's not possible to edit an address to an already existing address in your system. When editing the address, if you get a message popup saying that the property already exists within Street, you can click the 'click here' link to view that property.
β
It's also not possible to merge two properties so if you need to delete a property, please contact the Street Support team via live chat who can help.
If creating a manual address you will see a new section appear allowing you to enter the address as you wish it to appear, for example by adding Flat 5 in the Property Number field and 10 Example Street in the Street field:
When you are ready, click Create Address and the address will show on the property details page:
Note - When creating the manual address, if you receive an error saying that address is linked to an existing property in your network, this usually means the address you've entered is considered the same as the current address and the system is blocking a duplicate:
To resolve this, you need to change the address layout slightly so the system recognises it as a different address, ie move the property number into the property name field.
When you are happy with the address, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Update Property:
Customising the Public Address
If you are looking to change how the address looks on the portals, for example to show / hide the house number, head to the property page and click Edit > Customise Address:
Here you can enter a new public address into the Override box and update it:
Note - This will only update the address on the public pages. The address in Street will remain the same.
If you're looking to add a property with a custom address straight away, see this help article.
Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
