How to Edit a Property Address in Street
Street offers two ways to update a property address. The method you choose depends on whether you want to change the official record or simply how the address appears to the public.
Editing the Internal Property Address
If you are looking to edit the actual address in Street, for example to correct a house number, add a flat number, or fix a typo in your database, you can edit the internal property address. This will also update how the address displays on the portals, eg Rightmove and Zoopla.
To get started, head to the property page and click Edit (at the top right) > Edit Property.
From here click the 'X' to clear the current address and search for the correct postcode.
If the exact address you need appears you can simply select it. However if the specific address doesn't appear (e.g., a new conversion or flat), click 'add address' to enter the details manually and click 'create address' to save the address. When finished, make sure to click 'save and continue' at the bottom right to save the changes.
Note - Street prevents you from saving an address that already exists in your system to prevent duplicates. If you receive a "Property already exists" notification, click the link provided to view the existing record.
Customising the Public Address
If you are just looking to change how the address looks on the portals without actually adjusting the internal address, for example to show / hide the house number, you can use the customise public address option.
From the property page click Edit (at the top right) > Customise Address.
From here you can enter your preferred display name in the 'Override' box.
Note - This only changes the address on public-facing pages such as the Street public page, the portals and your website. The official address within your Street dashboard will remain unchanged.
If you're looking to add a property with a custom address straight away, see this help article.
Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
