What is 8x8
8x8 integrates voice, video, chat, contact center, and enterprise-class API solutions into one global, secure, reliable cloud communications platform.
β
Street has started an initial version of connectivity with 8x8 by allowing the two platforms to integrate for the purpose of seeing who is dialling into your phone system if they are registered in your Street account.
You will need to have an 8x8 account for this integration to work.
How to setup the 8x8 integration with Street
The setup of the 8x8 integration is all handled on the 8x8 app itself - there are no settings to setup in Street.
Note - Each user in your office that intends to use the integration will need to add this URL in their individual 8x8 app settings.
To get started, ensure you have the 8x8 app downloaded on your computer. In the app, click the 'cog' symbol at the bottom left to access the settings and click the 'caller info popup' tab.
On this page, copy and paste the following URL into the 'app or web URL for caller info popup':
How does the 8x8 integration work
When a call comes in, any users that have setup the 8x8 app will see the call come in as usual:
If the user that answers the call has the Street - 8x8 integration setup, they will see a new Street tab open in their internet browser.
When this tab opens, there are three possible scenarios:
If the number that is calling matches an individual person in your network, the browser tab that opens will show their person page.
If the number calling matches multiple people in your network, the tab that opens you will show each person record in Street, which you can click on to navigate to their person page.
If the number calling does not match any people in your network, the tab that opens will show an error, highlighting that Street was unable to find any matching contacts for the provided number.
