How to add, manage and remove solicitor firms and solicitors

Solicitors

Street gives you flexibility to manage your Solicitor address book in the way you need to. You can add solicitors firms and individual solicitors as well as amend these to move around different firms if needed.

To get started, head to Settings (on the left side panel, at the bottom) > Branch Settings > Solicitors. This is the area where you can build your solicitor's address book, for daily use when agreeing sales transactions within Street.

Note - You will need to be a Branch or Company Admin to access the solicitor settings within branch settings.

Solicitor Firms

The workflow for managing solicitors in Street is to firstly add the Solicitor Firm, to then add individual solicitors to those firms. This allows you to quickly update an individual solicitor to be in a different firm if they move companies, avoiding duplication and ensuring a single source of truth.

From the solicitor firms tab you will see a list of all firms in your account. New solicitor firms can be added using the '+ solicitor firms' button at the top right allowing you to add the firm's name, address, and main phone number and email address. You can also click into an existing firm to edit it's details.

If a firm has no solicitors attached to it, you will see a 'delete' button on the solicitor firm table. This can be used to completely remove that firm from your system.

Tip! It is not possible to delete solicitor firms with solicitors attached, as their details may be linked to an existing applicant, vendor or sale in Street. If you need to delete the firm, we would recommend creating a firm called 'Solicitors no longer in use' and moving those solicitors into that firm. You can then delete the firm they used to belong to.

Solicitors

The solicitors tab is where you can view all existing solicitors and create new solicitors, choosing which firm they belong to.

New solicitors can be added using the '+ solicitor' button at the top right allowing you to add their key information including which firm they belong to, their position within the firm, and their contact details.

You can also click into an existing solicitor to edit their details and change the firm they belong to by updating their 'firm'.

Tip! It is not possible to delete individual solicitors, as their details may be linked to an existing applicant, vendor or sale in Street. If you have solicitors you no longer work with, we would recommend creating a firm called 'Solicitors no longer in use' and moving those solicitors into that firm. This will prevent users selecting those solicitors during a sale in error.

With your solicitors set up, you can begin adding them to your applicants and vendors during a sale. For more information, see our Solicitors within a Sale.

Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
