Yes, an electrical inspection by an independent inspection body after the installation of a charging station is mandatory in Belgium. STROOHM also arranges this inspection for you, through an independent third party. We also provide the electrical diagram and the technical documentation. The price of this is always shown on our quotes.
PLEASE NOTE: only the installation and connection of the charging station are inspected, as an extension of your home electrical installation. The earthing and insulation resistance of your home electrical installation are, however, checked by the inspector for safety reasons. These must be in order, or be brought into order by you as the customer, in advance. After the installation, STROOHM also draws up a separate diagram of this extension with your charging station. Finally, the inspector may ask for the positive inspection report of your home electrical installation, so it is strongly recommended to have it to hand when the extension is inspected. This inspection is valid for a maximum of 25 years. If you do not have this report, you will need to have your home electrical installation inspected again before the inspection body visits.
Can a positive inspection report then be issued for the installation of the charging station?
If all the conditions above are met, you will always receive a positive report.
What if the inspection of my charging station was negative?
Then the inspection will have to be rescheduled and the issues that caused the negative result will have to be resolved before a positive inspection can take place. If the inspection was negative because of your home electrical installation, the costs of the re-inspection are payable by the customer.
