Copying Module Groups in Bulk

Learning/Knowledge Assumed to be in place:

  1. Ability to log into the system (for assistance on this click here )

  3. Ability to add groups to the module/course  (for assistance click here

Background:

If you have setup a given years groups appropriately and would like reuse that configuration for another period, use the bulk copy option to copy

  • Assessments

  • Assessment Attempts

  • Online Assessment Questions

  • Staff Group Access Configuration

Copying groups in bulk:

Step 1

In the group section of a given module/course the Add link

Step 2

When the Create Group Modal loads, locate the text below the modal's title. The text is "Note: Click here to copy existing groups in bulk". Select here

Step 3

When the Bulk Copy of Groups by Year page loads, on the first Year wizard step, select the campus and the group year you want to copy from i.e. Source Campus and Source Period and the campus you would like to copy it to i.e. Destination Campus.

In this example we are copying from our Online campus for the 2019 period to the same Online campus. 

We then select Next to continue.

Step 4

Once the page Select the groups you want to copy loads, select the groups and the group employees which you would like to copy.

For this example we will only select the 2019 Group A for the module/course Copying E-learning Content
.

Some useful Tips -
When selecting a module's groups modules, you don’t have to tick each module, you can simply tick the main checkbox, to the left of the Group label if you want to copy all the groups. This applies to the checkbox to the right of the label Copy Group Employees as well.

We then select Next.

Step 5

Once the start and end dates for each group loads, you are able to edit what the following aspects of the copied groups

  • Name

  • Code

  • Max number of students

  • Start Date

  • End Date

For this example we will be just changing the figure 19's to a 20

Once complete select Next.

Step 6

Once the Assessment copy options page loads, choose which assessment attempts you would like to copy as well as the online papers questions. Once you have made these selections and chosen the new assessment attempt dates, select Next

Once the Confirm page loads. Select the Confirm Copy button.

The group has now been added in line with the selections made in the wizard.
