Workout or video will not play

Troubleshoot a Studio Era workout video that won't start, stays blank, keeps loading, or stops playing.

If a workout video won't start or stops playing while the rest of Studio Era works normally, try the steps below.

Try the workout again after each step. If it starts working, there's no need to continue troubleshooting.

1. Try playing the workout again

Start by checking whether the workout player responds normally.

  1. Open the Studio Era app.

  2. From Home, open your scheduled workout. You can also go to Explore → Workouts and select a workout.

  3. Tap Start or Start workout to open the workout player.

  4. If the player opens but the video isn't moving, tap the video to show the controls.

  5. Tap the play/pause button to try playing the video.

If the video starts playing normally, you're all set!

If it remains blank, keeps loading, or won't play, continue below.

2. Check whether other workouts play

Let's see whether the problem affects one workout or several.

  1. Open Explore from the bottom navigation.

  2. Select Workouts.

  3. Choose a different workout.

  4. Try starting that workout.

Take note of what happens:

  • Only one workout won't play: The problem may be specific to that workout.

  • Several workouts won't play: The issue may be related to playback, your connection, or the app.

Either way, continue with the next steps.

3. Check your internet connection

Studio Era requires an internet connection to play workouts.

If a workout keeps loading or stops unexpectedly, try checking your connection:

  1. Open another app or website to confirm that your internet is working.

  2. If you're connected to Wi-Fi, try switching to mobile data, if available.

  3. Open Studio Era and try playing the same workout again.

  4. Check whether the video behaves differently on each connection.

If the workout plays on one connection but not another, the issue may be related to the network you're using.

For more detailed connection troubleshooting, see Studio Era app is not working or loading.

4. Restart Studio Era and check for updates

If the video still won't play:

  1. Fully close Studio Era, rather than leaving it running in the background.

  2. Reopen the app and try the workout again.

  3. Check whether a Studio Era update is available through the App Store, Google Play.

  4. Install any available update and try again.

  5. If the problem continues, restart your phone or tablet, then reopen Studio Era.

5. Is the problem happening on a TV?

If the workout plays normally on your phone or tablet but won't play when you try to cast it to another screen, the problem may be related to your casting connection or device compatibility.

Follow Watch or cast Studio Era workouts on a TV or larger screen for specific troubleshooting steps.

If the entire Studio Era app is freezing, crashing, or refusing to open, see Studio Era app is not working or loading instead.
