How to: create custom questions (Exam Builder)

Add your own bespoke questions to an exam

Updated over 4 months ago

Creating a custom question:

Once you've opened the exam builder and started putting together your test, you can choose to add and create your own questions.

Click '+ Add your own custom question' at the top of the list of questions.

This will open a window allowing you to type in your question. From here, you can also:

  • upload images

  • add headings

  • format the text using underline, bold and bullet lists, etc.

Adding special characters and mathematical notation:

For maths and physics subjects, you can insert special characters and formulas using our built-in LaTeX editor.

Click the f(x) button/icon to open the editor.

Adding a marking scheme (optional):

You can add a marking scheme to your question if you wish. Check the box beside the 'add marking scheme' text to expand a new text box where you can type in the marking scheme.

Your marking scheme will get added to the overall downloadable/printable marking scheme document if you choose to use this.

Finding custom questions later:

Quickly find and reuse your custom questions in the future by filtering for 'my questions' within topics:
