How to Enable Show Installer Contribution Dropdown

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Installer Contribution (previously called Is Aided) refers to the portion of a solar adder that an installer agrees to cover or discount—reducing the homeowner’s cost without affecting the system specs or subcontractor payout. This is commonly used to absorb the cost of upgrades or adjustments to help win deals or stay competitive.

In SubcontractorHub, organizations can choose whether the Installer Contribution checkbox appears in their proposals. This guide will show you how to enable or disable that setting.

How the Setting Works:

  • If your organization disables the setting, the Installer Contribution checkbox will no longer appear in the proposal builder—even if certain adders in your database are flagged as installer contributions.

  • For interconnected organizations:

    • If a sales organization is building a proposal without involving an EPC, the checkbox will appear if their own setting is enabled.

    • However, if the sales org selects a connected EPC organization when creating a proposal, the checkbox will only appear if the EPC has also enabled the setting. If the EPC has disabled it, the checkbox will not be shown—regardless of the sales org’s settings.

By default, Installer Contribution is enabled. If your team prefers not to offer installer-backed discounts in proposals, this guide will walk you through disabling it.

Follow the steps below to turn off installer contribution visibility for adders in proposals.

Step 1: From the main menu, click your organization’s profile and select “Settings”.

Step 2: Go to the “Public Proposal” section and click the “Edit” icon.

Step 3: Disable the “Show Installer Contribution Dropdown” setting by turning the toggle off.

Step 4: Click “Update” to save your changes.
