This tutorial guides you through using the AI Product Extraction feature to quickly identify and categorize products within your uploaded submittal documents.
Prerequisites
You must have a submittal document uploaded to the system.
You must be in the Extract Submittal Products view (the screen shown in the image).
1. Initiating AI Classification
To begin, you will activate the AI mode for product extraction.
Locate and click the AI Classify Products ($\text{N}$) button (where $\text{N}$ is the number of products already classified by the AI). This action activates the AI extraction interface.
Next, click the + Add Product button. This creates a new placeholder product card on the right side of the screen, ready for page assignment.
2. Assigning Pages to a Product
The AI needs to know which pages in the document correspond to the specific product you are trying to extract.
In the Submittal Pages ($\text{N}$) section on the left, click on the thumbnails of the pages that contain the information for the product you just added.
For example, if "Product #1" is detailed on pages 6 and 7, click the thumbnails for Page 6 and Page 7. 2. The selected pages will be automatically assigned to the active product card (e.g., "Product #1") on the right. You will see the page numbers appear under Assigned Pages (e.g., Page 6, Page 7).
3. Adding Additional Products
If your submittal contains multiple products that need to be extracted, repeat the process.
Click the + Add Product button again. A new product card (e.g., "Product #2") will appear.
Click the page thumbnails on the left that relate to this new product.
Note: You can assign the same pages to multiple products if necessary, but typically, each product is extracted from its unique set of document pages.
4. Starting the AI Classification
Once you have added all your products and assigned their respective pages, you can run the AI.
After you have finished adding all product cards and assigning their pages, click the Start Classification button at the bottom right of the screen.
The system will process the assigned pages for each product card.
The AI will automatically extract the product name and part number for each product you defined.
Tip: Review the AI's results once classification is complete to ensure accuracy. You may be able to edit the extracted information if minor adjustments are needed.
