Manage Part Numbers

What they are

Part numbers identify specific product models, SKUs, or catalog numbers. Each product can have multiple part numbers, and each part number can have tags (labels for segments of the number) and notes (warnings or annotations).

Viewing part numbers

On the Product Details page, part numbers appear in the right sidebar as clickable badges. Each segment of a hyphenated part number is shown separately. Small colored dots indicate if a part number has notes (amber) or tags (gray).

Editing a part number

  1. Click on any part number badge on the Product Details page.

  2. The Edit Part Number dialog opens with:

    • Part Number Value β€” the actual number (editable).

    • Tags β€” comma-separated labels that describe segments of the part number (for example, "series", "wattage", "color temp").

    • Notes & Warnings β€” free-text annotations about this part number.

  3. Click Save Changes to update.

AI-extracted part numbers

When you use "Get Specs with AI", the system analyzes the cutsheet PDF and extracts part numbers with their specifications. Each extracted part number shows a confidence level (high, medium, or low) and suggested tags for each segment. You can review and edit these before accepting.
