Compare to Spec
What it does
The Compare to Spec feature checks how well your submittal's products comply with the project specification. It produces a detailed compliance report showing which requirements are met, which have warnings, and which are failing.
How to use it
Go to the Submittal Review page and select a submittal.
Click the Compare to Spec button in the header.
Choose your specification source:
Upload New Spec — drag and drop or browse for a PDF specification document. Give it a name for reference.
Use Existing Document — select from project documents already uploaded to the Documents page. Use the search bar to filter by name or type (Specification, Drawing, Installation Instruction, Certification).
Click Run Comparison. The AI analyzes both documents and generates a compliance report.
You are automatically navigated to the Spec Comparison Results page to review findings.
Things to know
Only PDF files are supported for specification uploads.
The comparison is powered by AI and may take 30-60 seconds depending on document length.
Uploaded specs are saved to your project's Documents library for future use.
