Import Products
What it does
The Import Products page lets you bulk import products into your project catalog by uploading documents and using AI to extract product information automatically. It supports PDFs, spreadsheets, images, and Word documents.
Import workflow
The import process follows a 4-step workflow shown by a progress bar at the top:
Uploading — select and upload your files.
Analyzing — the system detects document types and preprocesses them.
Extracting — AI reads the documents and extracts product data.
Complete — review results and save to your catalog.
File sources
You can upload files from three sources:
From Computer — use the file picker to select files from your local machine.
From OneDrive — browse and select files from your connected Microsoft OneDrive.
From System Specs — use pre-loaded product databases.
Document categories
For each uploaded file, you can select a document category to help the AI understand the content:
Cut Sheet
Spec Book
Drawing
Spec Table
Submittal
After extraction
When extraction is complete, a table shows all extracted products with their names, part numbers, manufacturers, and specifications. You can:
Select individual products using checkboxes.
Save selected to your product catalog.
Create a submittal from the selected products.
View and browse past extraction sessions.
