Drawing Analysis
What it does
Drawing Analysis lets you upload architectural or engineering drawings (PDFs) and use AI to extract fixture schedules and product information from them. This is particularly useful for lighting plans, electrical layouts, and mechanical schedules.
How to use it
Go to Drawing Analysis in the Tools section of the sidebar.
Upload a PDF drawing file.
The PDF appears in an interactive viewer with these controls:
Zoom In/Out — adjust the view.
Rotate — rotate the drawing 90 degrees.
Page navigation — move between pages of a multi-page document.
Crop/Select tool — draw a rectangle to select a specific area of the drawing for analysis.
Use the Crop/Select tool to draw a box around a fixture schedule, legend, or area you want to analyze.
Click Analyze to run AI extraction on the selected area.
Results appear in a table below the viewer showing extracted fixtures with:
Type Mark (fixture identifier from the drawing)
Description
Manufacturer
Part Numbers
Quantity
After extraction
Select fixtures using checkboxes and save them to your product catalog.
Edit any field inline before saving.
Delete rows for fixtures you do not want to keep.
Copy fixture data to your clipboard.
Save Drawing Reference
You can capture a snapshot of any area on the drawing and link it to a product in your catalog. This is useful for preserving the context of where a fixture appears on a plan.
Use the Crop/Select tool to draw a box around the area you want to save.
Click Save Drawing Reference.
In the dialog, optionally add a label (e.g. "Detail A - Section 3").
Search for and select the product you want to associate the snapshot with.
Click Save. The cropped image is uploaded and linked to the selected product.
Viewing saved snapshots
Drawing references you save appear in several places:
Product Details — a "Drawing References" section displays all snapshots linked to that product. Click a thumbnail to open the full viewer with zoom controls.
Products list — a drawing icon appears next to products that have saved snapshots.
Procurement Log — items linked to products with snapshots show a drawing icon badge. Click it to view the snapshot.
