SunGod Iris™ photochromic lenses react to UV light. They darken in bright sun and lighten in cloudy or low light, so one lens works across changing conditions. Iris lenses are made with 8KO® lens technology.
Which SunGods have Iris lenses?
Iris lenses are available on every Pace Series model: Vulcans, Velans 2, Airas, FORTY2s, GTs, Classics⁴ Pro, Ultras and Ultras Air. They aren't available on Everyday sunglasses or goggles yet. Iris goggle lenses are in development.
How dark do Iris lenses get?
The lower the VLT (visible light transmission), the darker the lens:
Iris HV Blue: 34–79% VLT, for low to medium brightness
Iris Smoke: 16–43% VLT
Iris Gold: 11–47% VLT
Why do my Iris lenses look clear indoors?
Iris lenses react to UV light, so they look almost clear indoors and in dull conditions. Outdoors in bright sun, they darken over a few minutes.
How can I test my Iris lenses?
Wear your SunGods outdoors in bright sunlight for at least 5 minutes. The lenses will darken as they adapt to the light.
My Iris lenses aren't dark enough for me
Iris HV Blue is designed for low to medium brightness. For brighter conditions, choose Iris Smoke or Iris Gold, or a non-photochromic lens such as Silver Blue, Green, Smoke, Fire or Gold. Non-custom SunGods can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Read What is the SunGod returns policy?
