How to get Client Consent for Supanote?

Introduce Supanote to your patients/clients and obtain their consent.

Updated over 3 months ago

Why is client consent important?

Using Supanote means you’ll be recording or transcribing details from your sessions.

While Supanote is fully HIPAA-compliant and never stores recordings permanently, obtaining client or patient consent is a professional best practice, and in some states or jurisdictions, it's legally required.

To make this easy, Supanote provides a downloadable Client Consent Form that you can share directly with your clients before starting any session using our tools.

Example of how to introduce Supanote to your client:

"To give you my complete attention during our time together, I use a digital assistant that handles documentation in the background. This means I can focus entirely on our conversation without needing to take notes, making our sessions more natural and uninterrupted."

Privacy and Security Overview:

  • Supanote does not store any recordings. Audio is automatically deleted after your note is generated.

  • Notes can be manually deleted at any time or automatically set to delete after 30 days.

  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

  • We sign a BAA (Business Associate Agreement) with every customer by default.

How to get the Supanote Client Consent Form:

You can download your consent form directly from the Supanote dashboard or from here.

Select “Client Consent Form” from the Settings menu.

The form will automatically download to your device as a word doc. You can then print, email, or digitally share it with clients as needed.
