Understanding what carbon neutrality contribution is.

Updated over 3 months ago

The contribution to carbon neutrality involves actively limiting the harmful impacts of one's activities on the environment in order to preserve biodiversity and ecosystems.

For a company or organization, this corresponds to its commitment to reduce the effects of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Carbon neutrality is achieved when the amount of GHG emitted is balanced by the amount of GHG removed from the atmosphere. In other words, it means not emitting more carbon than we can eliminate.

When it is not possible to further reduce emissions, organizations can "mitigate" their emissions by investing in projects that reduce emissions elsewhere or that absorb CO₂, such as reforestation or carbon sequestration projects.
