Some of you may see sales tax added to your invoices. If this is a new change, it is due to Supio establishing a tax nexus in additional U.S. states, which now requires us to collect sales tax in certain jurisdictions.
We understand this may come as a surprise, so here’s some helpful context:
Why am I being charged sales tax?
Supio is required to collect and remit taxes in jurisdictions where:
Our products are taxable andSupio has a physical presence or meets specific economic thresholds
If you're located in a state where our products are taxable and we’ve met those requirements, we must charge sales tax on your purchases.
What if I'm in a state that doesn’t meet those requirements?
If Supio does not have a presence or meet thresholds in your jurisdiction, we won’t collect sales tax—for now. This may change as laws evolve or our economic presence grows.
What happens with the tax collected?
Supio does not retain any portion of the sales tax collected. 100% of the amount is remitted to the applicable state or local tax authority.
How is tax calculated?
Sales tax is calculated based on:
The products you've purchased
The address you’ve provided
The tax rate in your jurisdiction
