At a Glance

What’s new in Chat:

  • Chat is accessible from anywhere in Supio

  • A consistent AI Assistant experience across pages

  • Ad‑hoc document uploads for chat-only context

  • Improved source selection with folders, types, and timeline filters

  • A new Deep Thinking chat mode for complex reasoning

  • Highlighted citations for faster validation

What remains the same:

  • Core chat behavior and prompt usage

  • Prompt library and saved prompts

  • Line‑by‑line citations in responses

How to Access Chat

You can now interact with chat in two ways:

  • From the Overview page using the AI Assistant card

  • From the slide‑out panel on the right-hand side

The AI Assistant is available on every tab and delivers the same chat tools and experience wherever you open it.

Prompt Library & Chat History

Both the Overview AI Assistant card and the slide‑out panel include the same set of tools.

Prompt Library

You can access:

  • Prompts you’ve created

  • Prompts Supio has created on your behalf

This works exactly as it did previously, just in a more accessible location.

Chat History

You can view all past chats by selecting the chat history icon, making it easy to revisit prior analysis or answers.

Ad‑Hoc Document Uploads

Chat now supports adding documents on the fly using the paperclip icon in the chat box.

This allows you to:

  • Upload a document that is not already part of the case

  • Use that document as context for a specific chat

When uploading, you can choose to:

  • Add the file to the case, or

  • Use it only for this chat (it will not be saved to the case)

Common Use Cases

  • Recent medical articles

  • Relevant case law

  • Drafts or reference documents you don’t want stored in the case file

Source Selection & Context Control

Source selection determines what Supio uses as context when responding.

Default Behavior

  • For cases under 500 pages, all sources are selected automatically

  • For larger cases, we recommend narrowing the context

Narrower context generally produces more accurate and faster results.

Source Selection: What’s Improved

Area

What’s New

File selection

Mirrors the Files tab structure

Folder support

Select files using folders

Type filters

Filter by document types (e.g., medical, financial)

Timeline context

Chat against the verified timeline

Timeline filters

Filter by injuries, event types, riders, facilities

A Select All option is also coming soon to make broader context selection easier.

Chat Modes

Normal Mode

Normal chat mode behaves the same as it always has and is ideal for:

  • Quick questions

  • Fact lookups

  • Simple analysis

Deep Thinking Mode

Deep Thinking is a new chat mode designed for complex, multi‑step reasoning. Think of it as the “think harder” option.

When to Use Deep Thinking

  • Complex analytical prompts

  • Comparative reasoning

  • Tasks that would normally require extended expert review

For example:

  • Analyzing all injuries in a case

  • Performing nurse paralegal–style medical review

Deep Thinking mode may take longer (several minutes), but it produces more thorough and structured results.

Improved Citations & Source Highlighting

Citations continue to appear line by line in chat responses.

What’s new:

  • Clicking a citation navigates directly to the source page

  • The exact cited text is now highlighted within the source

This makes it faster and easier to verify where answers are coming from.

Summary

The updated chat experience makes Supio:

  • Easier to access

  • More powerful for complex analysis

  • More transparent through better citation handling

These updates are designed to support both quick answers and deep legal and medical reasoning—without disrupting your workflow.
