Since we want to give merchants the freedom to create their own unique labels, there are not many requirements when it comes to design.
You can change the background color, and font color, and add shapes, illustrations, and icons so long as:
The letters are at least one-sixteenth (1/16) inch in height based on the lowercase letter “o,” (Generally speaking, don’t use font size lower than 5pts)
The lettering must contrast sufficiently (it does not need to be black and white) with the background so as to be easy to read.
Document Settings: Start by ensuring that your document settings match those of the template. This includes maintaining a resolution of 300 dpi, using the appropriate dimensions for the label size, and setting the color mode to RGB.
Simplify Complex Vector Graphics (Illustrator only): Before you proceed, identify super-complex vector graphics within your design and consider simplifying them. This process involves reducing intricate details or excess anchor points, which can be done strategically, such as removing minor details that won't significantly affect the design's appearance. Simplifying complex vector graphics can enhance the file's performance and reduce its size.
Remove Unused Elements: Thoroughly inspect your design for hidden elements. Confirm that there are no concealed objects beneath the background shape or anywhere else in the document. Delete any unnecessary layers, objects, or artboards before proceeding with saving or exporting the PDF.
Rasterize Raster Images (Illustrator only): To optimize image sizes, refrain from using images larger than necessary. Resize images to their required dimensions, then follow these steps: Select the image, go to the "Object" menu, and choose "Rasterize." Ensure that the color mode remains in RGB, and set the resolution to "High" (300 dpi). This process will ensure the image is at an optimal size for your label.
Convert Fonts to Outlines (Illustrator only): To minimize file size, convert all text fonts into vector outlines. This transformation eliminates the need for font embedding and can significantly reduce the PDF's size. It's essential to retain a copy of the original file with editable text for future editing purposes.
Compression Settings and PDF Options (Illustrator only): When saving or exporting your PDF from Illustrator, follow these steps:
In the PDF settings dialog, choose the "High Quality Print" preset.
In the "Options" section, make sure that "Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities" is not checked.
Check the option for "Optimize for Fast Web View."
If necessary, you can also manually adjust settings in the "Compression" tab to slightly reduce image quality for further size reduction.
Before sending the products to your end customer for first our internal labeling experts will verify the designed label and check whether it meets the above requirements. Once a design is approved all orders will be fulfilled automatically.
!!!We also highly suggest placing a sample order as your initial order. This will allow you to see how your designed labels look in reality and test the product firsthand. Ordering a sample can be highly beneficial as it provides you with the opportunity to assess the quality, appearance, and overall impression of your branded products. It's always a good practice to ensure that you are fully satisfied with the end result before proceeding with larger orders.
