Texas Holdem Poker Cowboy is a card game where two hands compare Texas Hold'em rankings. You can predict whether the Cowboy or the Bull wins, bet on the starting cards, or bet on the winner's final hand rank.
Basic Rules
One standard 52-card deck, no jokers.
The Cowboy and the Bull each get 2 hole cards and share 5 community cards.
Each side makes its best 5-card hand from 7 cards. The higher hand wins; identical hands are a Tie.
How to Bet

Odds and bet limits shown in the game always apply.
Three Types of Bets
Cowboy Win / Tie / Bull Win: Who Wins
Betting area | Wins when |
Cowboy Win | The Cowboy's final hand is higher |
Bull Win | The Bull's final hand is higher; stake only is returned if the Bull wins on High Card |
Tie | Both best 5-card hands are identical |
Bull Win with High Card | The Bull wins on High Card |
In a Tie, only Tie wins. The other three areas lose.
Any Hand: The Two Starting Cards
Only the 2 hole cards of either side count. Community cards don't, and that side doesn't need to win.
Betting area | Wins when | Example |
Suited / Connector | Same suit or consecutive ranks (A-2 and K-A count) | 8♠ J♠, 8♣ 9♦ |
Pair | Same rank, including a pair of Aces | 6♠ 6♦ |
Ace Pair | Both cards are Aces | A♠ A♦ |
Each area pays once per round. A pair of Aces wins both Pair and Ace Pair, and each pays.
Winning Hand Rank: The Winner's Final Hand
Based on the winner's best 5-card hand. Only one area wins per round. In a Tie, all lose.
Betting area | Winner's final hand |
High Card / One Pair | High Card or One Pair |
Two Pair | Two Pair |
Trips / Straight / Flush | Trips(Three of a Kind), Straight or Flush |
Full House | Full House |
Quads / Straight Flush | Four of a Kind or Straight Flush (including Royal Flush) |
Hand Rankings
Hand (high to low) | What it is |
Straight Flush | Five consecutive cards of one suit; 10-J-Q-K-A is a Royal Flush |
Quads (Four of a Kind) | Four cards of one rank |
Full House | Trips(Three of a Kind) plus a Pair |
Flush | Five cards of one suit |
Straight | Five consecutive ranks |
Trips (Three of a Kind) | Three cards of one rank |
Two Pair | Two different pairs |
One Pair | Two cards of one rank |
High Card | None of the above |
Card ranks: A > K > Q > J > 10 > … > 2. An Ace can also play low in a straight: A-2-3-4-5 is the lowest.
When ranks are equal, the cards making the hand are compared first, then the rest. Suits never break ties.
