SupportNow makes it simple and secure for donations to reach the right person.
Whether you're the Organizer (who creates the Support Page), or the Beneficiary (who receives the funds), the process is straightforward.
For Organizers:
The first step is adding a Beneficiary - either yourself or the person/family you're supporting.
Once added, they'll receive detailed instructions and links to set up their account via Stripe Connect (our payment processing partner).
With everything complete in Stripe, they'll be able to request payouts whenever they'd like.
SupportNow is free to use, and the only place where families can keep 100% (when donors choose to RoundUp). If donors choose not to roundup, a 2.7% processing fee is deducted to cover payment processing fees.
Beneficiaries receive two free payouts every 30 days, with small fees for additional payouts.
For Beneficiaries:
After being added, Beneficiaries receive an email to set up a secure Stripe Connect account, required for bank transfers. If the email is not found in the inbox, Beneficiaries should check their spam or junk folder. Alternatively, they can access their unique onboarding link directly from their SupportNow user dashboard, which is a reliable fallback option.
If Beneficiaries encounter issues with the Stripe onboarding process, they should avoid using the general Stripe login page until their account is created. This page is only intended for completing remaining steps, such as accepting terms or adding a payout bank account.
Beneficiaries also need to have received at least 3 donations before their first payout is available — a verification and security step that protects donors, beneficiaries, and our banking partners from fraud. This only applies to the first payout.
Once Stripe is connected, at least 3 donations have been received, and donations have cleared (typically 2-3 business days), beneficiaries can request payouts from their "Your Dashboard", which can be found by clicking on "Your Profile" on the top navigation bar. Beneficiaries should also note that the SupportNow dashboard provides the most reliable method for accessing their Stripe onboarding link, ensuring a smooth setup process.
If Beneficiaries believe their Stripe Connect setup has been deleted, they should verify their setup through the SupportNow dashboard. In most cases, the setup remains intact, and they can proceed to request payouts once donations have cleared.
Payout requests are for your full available balance — partial withdrawals aren't currently supported.
Standard payouts are processed within 24 hours, while expedited payouts are transferred within 1 hour (M-F 8 AM to 8 PM ET). Once processed, funds typically arrive 2-3 business days, though timing may vary by bank. Stripe may request additional security verification, so beneficiaries should monitor emails and text messages.
In Summary:
Organizers select add the Beneficiary once. Beneficiaries then complete setup and can request payouts whenever they'd like.
Donors can give with confidence, knowing contributions are securely tracked and delivered.
