Great news: your support registry is ready.
You’ve created a place where people can show up for you or someone close to you. Now the next step is making sure your community knows it exists - and giving them a clear, simple way to help.
Sharing isn’t about perfection. It’s about visibility. Most people want to support you - they just need a direct invitation.
Here are five easy tips we recommend (w/explanation beneath for each):
1. Establish a clear "Why"
2. Ask your Inner Circle to Begin Getting the Word Out Immediately
3. Begin Sharing Directly
4. Know What to Say When You Post
5. Expand through Wider Networks

1. Establish a Clear "Why".
Start by defining the need.
What are you hoping to accomplish through this registry? This answer should guide every action you take to get the word out.
When people understand the purpose, they're far more likely to be inspired to act.
2. Ask your Inner Circle to Begin Getting the Word Out Immediately
Momentum matters most in the first 24 hours.
Reach out personally (no group texts) to 4 or 5 close friends or family members asking them to share on social and with friends/family. If it's easy to find more than 4 or 5, that's great, too.
Early shares build credibility and encourage others to join in.
Example:
"Would you be willing to share our registry on social media today? The biggest help right now is getting more eyes on it."
Encourage them to add a personal note:
"This is my cousin's daughter, and they could really use the support right now".
3. Begin Sharing Directly
Once your inner circle has started to get the word out, it's now your turn. Publicly thank your community and share the registry on your own social channels, as well.
- Facebook and Instagram (LinkedIn can also be effective)
- Texts to family and friends
- Personal or group emails
Direct messages are often the fastest way to build early support.
Instagram Tip - make sure you add the link into your Stories, so others can click/see your registry directly.
4. Know What to Say When You Post
When sharing your registry, keep it brief and clear. A strong post usually includes:
- What happened
- What the road ahead looks like
- What support is most needed
- What this support will make possible
- A direct ask to donate or share (with the link)
Focus on the impact - what donations provide: relief, stability, access to care - not just the money itself.
Aim for 4 to 8 sentences, include the link, and don't bury the ask at the end.
5. Expand Through Wider Networks
After both you and your inner circle have shared, broaden the reach:
- Group texts
- Schools/PTO's
- Workplaces
- Faith communities
- Professional or neighborhood networks
Encourage others to share, too. The more people who see the registry, the more opportunities there are for support.
Visibility, Not Pressure. Momentum, Not Perfection.
Sharing your registry is an act of courage - and it gives your community the chance to show up in meaningful ways.
Start small. Ask clearly. Build momentum.
