The roundup is a fixed 13% added on top of the donation amount at checkout. It's entirely optional and simple by design — donors can include the full 13% or leave it unchecked, whichever works best for them.
Worked example: A $20 donation with roundup becomes $22.60 ($20 × 1.13). Other examples: $50 → $56.50. $100 → $113.00.
The roundup covers more than payment processing. A portion of it does cover the processing fee, so the family receives 100% of the donation you intended to give — but the roundup is what makes SupportNow possible in the first place. It funds our technology, security, fraud prevention, customer support, and free resources like Connect (the world's largest database of medical grants) — all without charging families platform fees, subscriptions, or ads. SupportNow is the only family-first fundraising platform built this way.
Donors who uncheck the roundup box still complete their donation — that's completely okay. In that case, a 2.7% processing fee is deducted from the donation itself, so the family receives a little less than the full amount. Either way, families keep more of every donation on SupportNow than on most other fundraising platforms. For comparison, GoFundMe deducts 2.9% + $0.30 per donation and suggests a tip of around 17% that doesn't go to the family at all.
Our mission is simple: help families keep more of every donation than any other platform — and ideally, as much as possible. Curious how SupportNow compares?
