Welcome to Survival Frog, where we are dedicated to helping you make the most of your products.

If you're encountering issues with your Butane Torch Lighter, fear not – we're here to guide you through the troubleshooting process to ensure your lighter works as intended.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Ensure Proper Filling: Make sure your Torch Lighter is recently filled with high-quality butane.

  2. Adjust Flame Settings: If your lighter hisses or does nothing when you depress the trigger, the flame setting may need adjustment.

    • Hissing with No Flame:

      • Lower the flame setting on your torch lighter.

      • Check if this resolves the problem, as excessive hissing often indicates the flame setting is too high.

    • Low Hiss or Complete Silence:

      • If hitting the trigger results in a low hiss or complete silence, follow these steps:

      • Increase the flame adjuster to observe its impact on performance.

      • A low hiss or silence may be due to the flame adjuster being set too low.

    • No Hissing Despite Increasing Flame Setting: If adjusting the flame setting higher still yields no hissing sound, it could indicate more specific issues:

      • There might be a clog in the fuel lines, hindering the flow of butane.

      • Ensure there is an adequate amount of fuel in the torch lighter.

      • If necessary, try purging the lighter to remove any potential blockages in the fuel lines.

Preparing for Purging and Refilling

Cooling Off: Before purging or refilling, allow the lighter to cool for approximately five minutes.

Fuel Flow Adjustment: Before refilling, turn the flame adjustment all the way down. Most lighters have arrows indicating the + / – direction for flame height.

Purging Your Lighter

  1. Ensure the flame adjuster is at its lowest setting.

  2. Flip the lighter so the fill/purge valve is facing up.

  3. Press the purge/fill stem using a screwdriver or a lighter key. Keep the fill/purge valve away from your face.

  4. Expect a release of air and propellant from the valve stem. Repeat until no more air is expelled, indicating the lighter is completely empty.

CAUTION: Exercise caution during the steps listed above.

Refilling with Butane

  1. Flip the butane can so the stem points down.

  2. Ensure the lighter's fill valve is facing up.

  3. Firmly press the butane nozzle down over the fill valve for 5 to 10 seconds. You may hear a hissing sound as it fills the lighter.
