The Connect application includes basic and advanced search capabilities that enable you to quickly find projects and associated files and data in a collaboration space. Use the Search tool to find and quickly access a specific project name, project version, folder names, and filenames associated with any project in the collaboration space. You can also narrow your search by filtering the results by project, version, filename, and folder name or use the Advanced Search mode to focus your search by various selectable criteria.
The Search tool is especially helpful when your collaboration space contains many projects, folders, and files within each project. If you need to quickly find items within a collaboration space, use the Search tool instead of browsing through the various projects and associated folders and files.
There are two modes:
Search (default) — A quick search mode that helps you find projects, specific project versions, folder names, and filenames within the collaboration space. You can customize the results that display in the Search field by selecting an object category. Type at least three alphanumeric characters in the Search field. A list of likely or best-matching items (based on the selected object type) displays in the Search dropdown list.
Advanced Search — A targeted search mode that enables you to select one or more object types and then find objects within the collaboration space that meet the criteria you specify in the tool. The results display as tiles in the Advanced Search interface. When you modify the search criteria in the Advanced Search interface, the results update accordingly. The advanced search criteria include:
Object type (project, version, filename, and folder name).
Created by (name of the collaboration team member who created the object).
Created on (date or date range that the object was created or added to the collaboration space).
Modified by (name of the collaboration team member who last modified the object).
Modified on (date or date range that the object was last modified).
When you find the item you are searching for in the collaboration space, select the tile in the Search dropdown list or the Advanced Search interface. The software displays the item you selected from the Search or Advanced Search interfaces.
