Use the Advanced Search mode in the Connect application to filter your search results in a collaboration space by various selectable criteria that are associated with the project, version, filename, and folder name item categories. In Advanced Search mode, you can apply different combinations of item filtering to hone and refine the results that display in the viewer.
Prerequisites
The Connect application is open and one or more projects are available in your collaboration space.
You need to find a specific project name, project version, filename, file type, or folder name in the collaboration space
Procedure
In the Connect application banner (top right corner), click to display the Search tool.
Type the item name or description that you want to find in the collaboration space.
When you type the first three alphanumeric characters, the dropdown list expands to display up to four project names, project versions, filenames, and folder names that match the search criteria you entered. Search results are grouped by category.
Tip: Use filter options to display items in the dropdown list by a specific category (click Projects, Folders, Files, or Versions). Click All to display up to four entries for each category that match the search criteria. Contents displayed in the dropdown list immediately refresh based on the category you select.
Click Advanced Search (bottom right of the dropdown list).
The Connect application displays in Advanced Search mode. By default, items that match the search criteria display in tiles segregated by category (Projects, Versions, Files, and Folders).To further refine the list of items that display in the Advanced Search tool, select a filtering category name and then select the applicable check boxes adjacent to the items displayed in the filtering category dropdown lists.
Object type -- Displays the object categories available in the active collaboration space. Select the check box adjacent to the object category to search for and display results based on that category (Project, Version, Folder, and File).
Created by -- Displays the names of collaboration team members that created or added projects and project versions, folders, and files to the collaboration space. Select the check box adjacent to a name to search for and then display results in the Advanced Search mode.
Created on -- Displays a calendar where you can search for and then filter the display of items based on a date or date range that the items were created or added to the collaboration space. You can select a specific day, month, and year on the calendar or select a predefined date or range (Yesterday, Today, This Week, This Month).
Modified by -- Displays the names of collaboration team members that modified projects and project versions, folders, and files in the collaboration space. Select the check box adjacent to a name to search for and then display results in the Advanced Search mode.
Modified on -- Displays a calendar where you can search for and then filter the display of items based on a date or date range that the items were modified in the collaboration space. You can select a specific day, month, and year on the calendar or select a predefined date or range (Yesterday, Today, This Week, This Month).
When you select check boxes adjacent to the filtering items in any category, the software displays the active filter names in a dropdown list.
To remove an active filter option, click X adjacent to the filter name. To remove all active filter options, click Clear All. The items displayed in Advanced Search mode dynamically update as filter options are removed.
(Optional) Click Load more <Category Name> to display all items in a category that match the search criteria (for example, Load more Projects).
Scroll through the items in the Advanced Search mode and then select the item you are searching for.
The Connect application displays the item you selected.(Optional) To return to the Advanced Search mode, click to display the Search tool and then click Advanced Search.
To close the Advanced Search mode in the Connect application, click Exit Advanced Search on the Connect application banner (top right corner).
