Personalize the appearance of each project's BOM page by reordering the table column headings, hiding or displaying columns, adjusting column width, and adjusting the sort order of items within a column. The Connect application automatically saves your BOM page display settings for each project.

Prerequisites

  • You selected the correct project and version from the Projects page.

  • The BOM page displays in your web browser for the

    selected project.

Procedures

Perform any of the following operations from the BOM page:

Operation

Steps

Show or hide one or more columns (property names).

  1. Click Settings and choose Configure Columns from the popup menu.

  2. Select the property name check boxes to display property names in columns or clear the check boxes to omit the property name from the table.
Tip: To select or clear all property name check boxes, toggle the Select All button.

  3. Click Done.

The property name column visibility settings are persistent until you change them in the Configure Columns dialog box.

Reorder columns using the mouse.

Click and drag a column heading cell to the left or right and then drop into the new location in the table.

The column order setting is persistent until you change them in the BOM table.

Sort items in a column.

Click a column header and choose the sort order method from the popup menu (Sort Ascending and Sort Descending). By default, entries in the selected column are not sorted (No Sorting).

Tip: When you exit the BOM page, the column sort order inherits the “No Sorting” (default) setting.

Adjust column width.

Position the cursor on column heading's right border and, when the cursor changes, click and drag the border to the proper width, and then release the mouse button.

Tip: The software saves adjustments to the column width settings for each project.

Wrap text in table cells.

Click Settings and choose Wrap Text from the popup menu.

When enabled, text in table cells appear on multiple lines based on the column width.

Note: To toggle off wrapped text in table cells, choose Wrap Text again from the popup menu.
