Role: Administrator, Editor, or Viewer.

You can download a copy of one or more ancillary files associated with a project version from the cloud collaboration space to your local machine and then view and modify the file's content locally without affecting the file stored in the cloud. You can also download the contents within a folder or subfolder to your local machine.

For example, vendor part specifications or scheduling information associated with a project may require periodic updates. Instead of uploading new files to the project stored in the cloud, you can download one or more files to your local machine for editing with standard desktop tools and then upload and replace the file associated with the project stored in the cloud.

Prerequisites

  • You selected a project name and version from the Project > Design page.

  • The Files page appears in the web browser.

Procedure

Perform the following operations to download files or folders containing files to your local machine:

Downloading one or more files

  2. Depending on your default web browser, verify the filename or the .zip file to download, define whether to open the file (or .zip file) in the browser or to save the file to your machine, and then click OK.
A progress bar displays the status of the download operation.

  2. Depending on your default web browser, verify the .zip file to download, where to save the file to your machine, and then click OK.
A progress bar displays the status of the download operation.

Results

Depending on the operation you performed:

  • Open the file using desktop tools that are compatible with the type and content of the file. If you saved two or more files, unzip the compressed file on your local machine, and then open the files using standard desktop tools.
