How to use the Admin Console

PADS Professional Premium integrates extended capabilities utilizing the power of the cloud. The Connect app provides a secure data management and collaboration environment. PartQuest provides immediate access to 100s of millions of pre-made eCAD models. PCBflow (Premium DFM subscription) provides unlimited access to DFM analysis.

You will use the Xcelerator Admin Console to enable your team's access to the cloud applications. The Admin Console is a separate application and is initially only available to you, the account administrator. You do have the option to add more administrators to your account, which will be covered later in the article.

To access the Admin Console:

  1. Open the Admin Console by clicking the "Open Admin Console now" button. You shouldn't need to sign in again since you are already signed in. You can access the Admin Console at any time in the future by navigating to https://admin.sw.siemens.com/

  2. Take the product tour to familiarize yourself with the Admin Console.

  3. The Admin Console help documentation can be opened by clicking the ? help icon in the left navigation panel.

To assign cloud app licenses to your users:

  1. Select the Products tab from the left navigation panel.

  2. Select a product from the Products list.

  3. From the product details view in the right pane, select the Assign User button.

  4. In the right panel, enter the user's email address in the Email field.

  5. If applicable, select the product tier you'd like to assign to the user.

  6. Select the user's access role.

  7. Select Assign.

To assign additional administrator users:

  1. Select the Admins tab from the left navigation panel.

  2. Select the Add Admin button.

  3. In the right panel enter the user's email and name.

  4. Select Add.

  5. The user will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to access the Admin Console.
