How to set up coupon codes in Swaarm - create publisher-specific tracking links with coupon codes, set validity dates, and track usage in the Conversion Report.

Coupons allow you to create publisher-specific tracking links with a coupon code embedded - for example, SALE_XYZ20 for influencer campaigns. They serve two purposes: giving the end user a discount, and tracking which publisher or affiliate drove the conversion. Unlike standard click tracking, coupons track usage of the code rather than the individual user.

ℹ️ A common use case is influencer campaigns — each influencer gets a unique coupon code (e.g. SALE_XYZ20, SALE_ABC20) with the same discount but different names, so you can identify which influencer drove which conversions.

How to create a coupon

  1. Go to Offers → Coupons tab

  2. Click + Create Coupon

  3. Enter the Coupon Code - alphanumeric only, no special characters

  4. Select the Offer this coupon applies to

  5. Select the Publisher who will use this coupon

ℹ️ If the publisher is not yet approved on the offer, they will be automatically approved when you save the coupon.

  6. Set the Start Date - when the coupon becomes valid

  7. Set the Expiration Date - when the coupon expires (optional)

  8. Add an optional Internal Note for your team (optional)

  9. Click Save

Using the coupon tracking link

After saving, the coupon tracking link is shown in the Coupons table. Share this link with the publisher - it includes the coupon code embedded in the URL.

ℹ️ You can test the coupon tracking link using the Scan Tool before sending it to the publisher.

When a conversion fires via a coupon link, the postback includes:

postback?coupon_code=COUPON_CODE

Rules

  • You can assign multiple coupon codes to different publishers on the same offer

  • You cannot create duplicate codes for the same offer and publisher combination

  • Coupon codes are alphanumeric only - no special characters

Tracking coupons in reports

Coupon codes are logged under the Pub. Unique 3 field in the Conversion Report.

To track conversions from a specific coupon:

  1. Go to Reports → Conversion Report

  2. Add the Pub. Unique 3 column

  3. Apply a filter: Pub. Unique 3 = [coupon code]

You can also view and manage coupons per offer directly from the Offer Detail page → Coupons tab.
