This article explains how to set up a local timezone on the platform level that makes easy to operate platform in non-UTC timezones

Updated over a week ago

Local Timezone

By default, we operate in the UTC timezone, but if your business is already set up according to a Non-UTC timezone OR you would prefer to work in your local timezone? Then no need to adapt to the UTC at all, we provide you the full flexibility of setting up your timezone on the whole platform level.

Local timezone set up allows you to work fully according to the timezone that you have configured on the platform settings. Let's see how to configure the platform timezone.

Configure Local Timezone

Step 1 - Go to Organization > Settings > General tab

Step 2 - Click on the Timezone option and select the local timezone that you want to set up on the platform level from the dropdown

Step 3 - Click 'Save', and you will see the configured timezone updated on the Topbar. Also, platform time will always be displayed left to the timezone.

What is affected by the configured local timezone?

  1. All the statistical data on every page of the platform will be displayed according to the local timezone. It will impact all the tables, widgets, reports, and even visuals (charts, graphs, pie charts, etc.) data

  2. All the scheduled actions in schedule changes, workflows, email custom reports, etc will work according to the local timezone

  3. All automation-related rules on the platform will work as per the local timezone

  4. All timestamps entries on the overview tables including timestamps on existing entries (eg., created at, updated at, etc.) will be shown as per the local timezone

  5. If data is already present on the platform - Then all existing clicks, conversions, events, etc. recorded with the UTC timezone will be converted to the local timezone, and hence the past data on reports will be fetched and shown as per the local timezone

  6. Offer Budgets that are set up in UTC will be moved to the local timezone

  7. Time targeting on offer and global level will work as per local timezone

  8. In Explorer and SQL studio, the local timezone should be supported while querying the data

  9. Scan Offer Tool will work as per the local timezone

  10. Important - On Partner UI, the configured timezone will be followed on all the pages where all the visuals (performance charts, graphs, etc.), reports, table data, and statistics will be shown as per the configured local timezone in Admin UI

Important Note About Budgets

Budgets will reset when you change the platform(local) timezone in Organization > Settings > General.

Example: If you have a monthly conversion budget of 100, and it is already 50% reached, and you change the platform timezone, then the budget will start counting from zero again. Conversions would only be set to pending once we get 100 conversions in that month after the timezone was set.

To avoid this, you can adjust your budget before changing the platform(local) timezone or setting up a local time on the offer level as mentioned below.

What is not affected by the platform timezone?

  1. Offer Budgets that are already set up in a budget local time will not be affected by the configured platform timezone, find more about how to setup offers level budgets in the local timezone here

  2. Usage data will still be shown as per UTC
