The portfolio is a feature that lets you create a clean, organized, and visually engaging gallery of projects, products, or items on your website. It provides the ability to display an image, video, or a set of images in multiple different views, making it ideal for any content where a visual overview is needed.
Common Uses Of The Portfolio Feature Include:
Displaying photography, artwork, or design portfolios.
Presenting project-based work, like case studies or event galleries.
Organizing content or resources that can be filtered based on categories.
Setting Up The Portfolio
While many of our templates come with the portfolio pre-loaded due to the nature of their designs, it’s possible that you will need to manually create it if your chosen template doesn’t include it. To do that, you can navigate to the Pages tab (located in the left-side menu), click on the “Add New” button and select “Portfolio” from the list of options:
If the portfolio is not available in this area, it means it’s been pre-loaded through the template. You will find it here:
You can then begin to add items, content, videos, images etc. to your portfolio by clicking the Add Item button inside the Portfolio Page.
Creating A Portfolio Item
After creating the portfolio, you can begin adding items to it. Each item generally consists of an image, gallery, or video as well as a title, description and categories.
An additional option will be presented to you if you enable "Add Dedicated Page". Using that, you can create a specific page that goes even more in depth on that specific piece of content/image/item.
Just as well, you can also add more information regarding that Portfolio Pages' Page URL as well as page description information for Search Engine Optimization.
Editing The Portfolio Template Page
Each new portfolio item that has the “Add dedicated page” option enabled will be generated based on the template page you’ve created. This feature is quite useful in cases where you’re looking to add multiple items of similar nature (recipes, real estate listings, video series etc.) as it allows you to save time while designing.
It’s important to note that already existing portfolio items will not be updated after you’ve made adjustments to the template page. Instead, only newly created ones will reflect those changes.
Editing The Portfolio Header
The portfolio header appears just below the global header that’s visible throughout your site, creating a focused section for showcasing your work.
This header is consistent across all portfolio-related pages, helping visitors easily navigate your projects. It’s designed to blend seamlessly into your site while keeping the portfolio pages organized and visually cohesive.
Customizing it is easy - you can include navigation links, a search bar or other small elements to help guide visitors through your work.
Adjusting The Portfolio Settings
The portfolio settings are divided into three main categories: layout, spacing, and width. Additionally, there’s a dedicated area where you can see a preview of the final design before saving your changes.
In the layout settings, you can choose how your portfolio items are displayed. Options include grids with 2 to 5 columns, a masonry layout for a more dynamic and varied appearance, or a straightforward list layout.
The spacing settings let you decide whether to display your portfolio items tightly packed with no spacing or to add space between them for a cleaner, more open look.
In the width settings, you can choose between a full-width layout, where the portfolio stretches across the entire screen, or a boxed layout that keeps it contained within a central frame.
