Quick start guide on how to use the new Swing Education app

Updated yesterday

We know you’re busy, so we designed the Swing Education app for teachers on the go. With the app, you can view and accept requests, get access to your schedule, update your profile, and more. Get started with the guide below.

Please note, you will need to have a fully onboarded Swing account in order to use the app. If you don't have a Swing account yet, you can get started here: https://swingeducation.com/getting-started/

Viewing New Requests & Commitments Using the app not only streamlines the preview and application process but also ensures you can act quickly by accessing job requests immediately from your mobile device. This is particularly useful for staying updated while on the move.

Once you log in to the app, you will be taken to the "Openings" tab. This is where you can view job opportunities posted by our school partners. In addition to viewing requests here, it is beneficial to check frequently to ensure you don’t miss openings. To view your schedule, tap "My Requests," and to view or update your profile, click the "More" tab, then "Profile," where you can see your account badges and more.

Using Notifications

Once you download and log into the app, you can choose to receive text or app notifications. You can find more information on how to set up notifications here: How to turn on/off notifications. Notifications are crucial as jobs may be claimed fast; enabling alerts ensures you can respond promptly. Consider both text and in-app alerts to maximize your responsiveness.

To accept a request from a push notification, tap the notification from your notification center. This will take you to the request page for that assignment, where you can view request details and accept the request.

Viewing Sub Requests Details

To view the full request details on the app, you can either tap the notification you receive or you can navigate to the "Openings" tab to see the request there.

When viewing the request details, you’ll see the date range for the request, as well as other details, including the:

  • Hourly rate for that specific request

  • Start and end times

  • School contact info

  • Grade level

  • Subject

  • Permit Requirements

  • Whether Lesson Plans are provided

  • And Notes from the school

Seasonal Job Opportunities and Tips

  • Monitor the platform for occasional requests even during summer breaks.

  • Late summer often features an increase in listings as schools prepare for the new academic year; remain active to secure roles early.

  • For the best experience, use both desktop and mobile platforms to access job opportunities efficiently.
