What are possible reasons why my clicks or sales are not being tracked?
What are possible reasons why my clicks or sales are not being tracked?

The following reasons can lead to your clicks or sales not being correctly registered:

The cookie has expired

Our cookies have an expiry date of 45 days. If your readers complete their bookings after this time, the process will no longer be registered.

You are using a URL shortener

If you use a URL shortener to shorten your referral links, the clicks may not be tracked by Tapfiliate. We therefore recommend that you do not shorten the URLs, but use them in their full length.

The link no longer exists and is redirected

If an activity is deleted or we make fundamental changes to the structure, we set redirects. In this case, the old page gets redirected to a new one in order to avoid a 404 Error. If your link goes to the old page, your ID may be lost during the redirect process.

If you suspect that this is the case with one of your links, you can do the following:

  • Click on the link.

  • Check in your browser whether ?ref= + your ID is displayed in the URL.

  • If not, you need to replace the link (with ?ref= + your ID) so that it works again.

However, we only change the links in very rare cases. If there is a major change, we will inform you. If you are unsure whether you have the right links, please contact us via our chat.

Your readers use AdBlocker

If your readers use AdBlockers, tracking will be affected and clicks may not be registered. There are also browsers (such as Opera or Brave) that have an ad blocker built in and affiliate clicks are suppressed.
