Synaptiq allows you to share decks with your friends, peers, or colleagues to collaborate and learn together. Updates to decks are automatically pushed to everyone sharing that deck.

How to Share a Deck

Click on a deck title from the Home screen to open the Session Settings window. Then choose Share to open the sharing screen.

On the sharing screen, enter the email of someone with whom you wish to share the deck. Click “Share” and an email will be sent to that address allowing them to accept your invite.

Once they have accepted your invite, the deck will be added to their account.

Sharing Permissions

Owners

You are the Owner of any decks that you create or import. As an Owner, you can:

  • Add Cards

  • Edit Cards

  • Remove Cards

  • Add Sub-decks

  • Edit Sub-decks

  • Remove Sub-decks

  • Delete Deck

In addition to managing the deck itself, owners can manage the permissions of other users of the deck. They can promote Viewers to Editors and remove Viewers or Editors from the deck.

Owners can also see the names and emails of the users that are sharing that deck.

Editors

Editors can manage a shared deck's cards but cannot modify the permissions or the deck structure. They can:

  • Add Cards

  • Edit Cards

  • Remove Cards

As an Owner, it is recommended to promote only those you trust to the Editor role.

Viewers

Viewers are users with whom the deck is shared. They cannot edit the deck, but can study it and view all the cards through Browse.

Changing Permissions

To change a Viewer or Editor's permissions, use the dropdown on the right side and select the desired role. Upon save, the changed permissions will be updated.

Removing Sharers

To remove someone's shared access, simply hover the row of the desired user and hit the Trash icon. Upon save, that user's access will be removed.

Deleting a Shared Deck

Be careful! You cannot undo this action.

Deleting a shared deck will permanently remove this deck from your account, as well as from all users with whom the deck is shared. Study progress for every user of the deck will be lost.
