tl;dr:
If your professional email address is jane.doe@synchpay.com
, you can create a parallel SynchPay account with the email address jane.doe+location@synchpay.com
Now, when you log in to SynchPay, you can use the jane.doe+location@synchpay.com
email to log in. Each alias account will have a separate password, but it's probably easier to use the "Sign in with login link" functionality. (see here below)
SynchPay does not have a formal account delegation functionality, but the following workaround can easily address a situation where you either need to have full access to multiple organizations or need to silo the organizations.
You cannot use the "Log In with Google" functionality if you have multi-organization access - logging in with Google will always log you in with the main, root email address.
The fastest way to get started is to use a plus address.
Use a plus address
Plus addresses are only available if your organization uses Google Workspace or Gmail.
Google Workspace and Gmail have a feature where any text after a plus sign + is treated as a different email address by systems like SynchPay, but is routed to the same email address. Refer to this link for a more detailed discussion of this feature.
Example scenario
You are an outsourced CFO responsible for multiple practices. To access your clients' accounts, you can create a plus alias for each one.
You can always reset your password by clicking the "reset your password" link at the bottom of that screen.
Use an email alias or alternate email address
If you need a more robust solution and have multiple domains, you can create an alternate email address and map it to a SynchPay account. Note that you will still have to reach out to SynchPay support to have this email address mapped to an organization, and Sign in with Google will still only take you to the main account. Precise instructions are outside the scope of this page, but please refer to your respective email provider's documentation for details.
How to get started with multi-organization access
Use the messenger in the web portal or email the SynchPay team at support@synchpay.com to get set up with multiple account access. The team will need to know:
Which organization, if any, your current, unaltered email address should be able to access.
What alias you would like to use for each organization.
We may ask for proof of the relationship between you and the new organization to keep our clients' data safe.
Log in using a password or one-time code
Using the "Sign in with Google" button will take you to your main account (i.e. jane.doe@synchpay.com
. For convenience, we recommend using the "sign in with login link" functionality.
Please contact support if you have any questions or need to add a plus address.
