Setting up your Open Dental integration

The Open Dental integration requires admin access to your practice's server. Your IT person can contact onboarding@synchpay.com if they need help.

Setting up the Server Integration

SynchPay uses NexHealth's synchronizer to integrate with Open Dental.

To get started, contact the SynchPay support team so that they can coordinate with your IT team and provide the required product key.

  1. Request a product key from SynchPay via email.

  2. Log in to the server running the Open Dental database with an administrator account.

  3. Download the NexHealth Synchronizer at this link.

  4. Run the Synchronizer installer.

    1. Be sure to select all of your locations.

  5. Enter the product key you received from SynchPay when requested.

Adding an Open Dental Button

Follow the instructions here to add a new SynchPay payment method as cash. Once you've done that, please request a payment from Charles via his cell phone number.

Open Dental is programmed to have a slight lag between when a transaction is entered into the system and when it is sent to SynchPay. You should use the Web Portal for in-person payment requests.
