What is a supporting activity
Supporting Activities are undertaken to support Core Activities. Supporting Activities are activities directly related to Core Activities. They don’t have to be scientific and they can occur before, during or after your experiment.
For example:
Setting up testbeds
Coding algorithms created using existing knowledge that will be used in an experiment
Collating a data sample that will be used to conduct a relevant experiment.
Some supporting activities require a dominant purpose test.
How to create a supporting activity
Click on the activity tab in your project profile. Here you will find your activity box, where you can add core or supporting activities - a drop-down will allocate accordingly.
You have to choose to which core activity it is related to, give it a name, start date and end date and last but not least you have to describe your supporting activity.
Here are some key aspects for describing supporting R&D activities:
You may have several supporting R&D activities for each core R&D activity if each satisfies the requirements
Supporting R&D activities may take place before, during or after your relevant core R&D activity
Each supporting R&D activity must directly relate to at least one of your core R&D activities
