Navigating and Using the Filter in the Historical View

The Historical View in Synnch's Timesheet Module provides a comprehensive overview of all timesheet entries made during a selected time period by day and person. This guide will help you understand how to use the filter, navigate the view, and export the data.

Using the Filter

  1. Open the Filter:

  • Click the filter button to access filter options.

2. Initial Filter Settings:

  • All team members will be selected by default.

3. Filter by Team Members:

  • To remove a team member, press the ‘x’ beside their name.

  • To add a team member, click the checkbox next to their name.

  • Selected team members will appear in the applied filter section.

4. Filter by Projects:

  • Click the checkbox next to the project name to select it.

  • Use the search box or vertical scroll bar to find projects.

  • Selected projects will appear in the applied filter section.

5. Filter by Activities:

  • Click the checkbox next to the activity name to select it.

  • Use the search box or vertical scroll bar to find activities.

  • Selected activities will appear in the applied filter section.

6. Filter by Record Type:

  • You can currently filter by the “With Evidence” record type.

  • Selected record types will appear in the applied filter section.

7. Apply the Filter:

  • Click Apply to update the historical view table based on your filter criteria.


Exporting Data

  1. Export Information:

  • The data displayed in the historical view table can be exported.

2. Download CSV:

  • Click the Export button to download the data as a CSV file.


Navigating the Historical View

  1. Initial View:

  • All team member timesheet data will be displayed initially.

  • Loading may take a few minutes, and a loading indicator will be shown.

2. Sorting Data:

  • Use the sorting buttons beside the header labels to organize data:

  • Alphabetical: Staff name, Project, Activity, Description

  • Low/High hours: R&D hours, BAU hours

3. Searching:

  • Enter any keyword or phrase in the search bar to filter the view.

  • Results will display time entries containing the keyword or phrase.

  • Note: ‘Staff Name’ and ‘Date’ are not included as keywords.

4. Date Selection:

  • Filter the view by Financial Year and Date Period. The default Financial Year starts in July and ends in June.

  • Select the Financial Year.

  • Choose the Date Period.

  • The historical view will update based on the selected dates.

The filter, export, and navigation features in the Historical View are designed to help you manage and review your R&D timesheet data efficiently.
