Which networks does Synthetix run on?

Updated over a week ago

Synthetix is moving fully to Ethereum Mainnet, the most secure smart contract platform.

  • All new staking and trading will take place on Ethereum Mainnet.

  • The Synthetix Mainnet exchange is expected to launch in Q4 of 2025.

  • Synthetix is shifting from Layer 2s, prioritising security, stability and long term growth.

Legacy Layer 2

In earlier versions Synthetix operated on Optimism, Arbitrum and Base, exploring faster and cheaper trading.

  • The products deployed on these L2's are now considered legacy and deprecated.

  • Current developments has shifted back to Eth Mainnet.

  • Users may still see references to these chains in older guides or materials.

Why Ethereum Mainnet?

By returning to Ethereum Mainnet, Synthetix ensures:

  • Maximum Security for traders and stakers.

  • Simpler user experience (no bridging across chains).

  • A strang foundation for the next generation of perps trading.

Quick Troubleshooting

  • Wrong Network Error? Make sure your wallet is set to Eth Mainnet.
