Signature request failed

Updated over a week ago

If you see a "Signature request failed" error, your wallet wasnโ€™t able to sign the message or transaction. This usually happens because the wallet is locked, on the wrong network, or interrupted by another extension.

Common Causes

  • Wallet locked or inactive.

  • Wrong network selected.

  • Hardware wallet not connected or app not open.

  • Conflicting browser extensions blocking the request.

Steps to Fix

  1. Unlock your wallet

    • Open your wallet (e.g. Metamask) and enter your password.

  2. Check the network

    • Make sure your wallet is set to Ethereum Mainnet.

  3. Retry the request

    • Close the popup and try the action again.

  4. If using a hardware wallet

    • Make sure your Ledger or Trezor is plugged in, unlocked, and the Ethereum app is open.

  5. Disable conflicting extensions

    • Adblockers, privacy tools, or multiple wallet extensions may cause issues. Try turning them off temporarily.

Still Not Working?

  • Disconnect and reconnect your wallet.

  • Restart your browser or device.
