Ledger or Trezor not connecting

Updated over a week ago

If your Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet isn’t connecting to Synthetix, it’s usually a setup or browser issue.

Common Causes

  • Device not unlocked.

  • Ethereum app not open on the device.

  • Outdated firmware or wallet software.

  • USB/Bluetooth connection issue.

  • Browser not supported (e.g. Safari).

Steps to Fix

  1. Unlock your device

    • Enter your PIN and unlock your Ledger or Trezor.

  2. Open the Ethereum app

    • On Ledger: open the Ethereum app.

    • On Trezor: confirm Ethereum access in Trezor Suite.

  3. Check your connection

    • Ensure the USB cable (or Bluetooth, if supported) is secure.

    • Try another cable or port if needed.

  4. Update firmware and software

    • Make sure Ledger Live or Trezor Suite is up to date.

    • Update device firmware if prompted.

  5. Try a supported browser

    • Chrome or Brave work best. Safari is not supported for most wallet extensions.

Still Not Working?

  • Restart your device and computer.

  • Reconnect using another browser.
