RECIPE> Ingredients > Add a New Custom Ingredient

Sysco | Studio will easily find any Sysco ingredient - from your previous order history, or from the Product Guide.  BUT - what if there are items in the Recipe that are "Non-Sysco" ingredients?
> Examples:   Beer from the front of house tap, fresh bread from the local bakery, specialty item from another vendor (sample below - 8oz burger patty)

> NOTE:  to show up on your recipe card, you'll need to add a value to each Custom Ingredient - even water... so add a cost to it - even if it's 1¢

To create a "Custom Ingredient" - click on the Add a New Custom Ingredient link

    •  Enter ingredient name ie.  8oz Hamburger Patty 80/20 Grnd Chuck
    •  Enter Brand (if applicable - Joe's Meats)
    •  Enter Amount Used – qty & unit of measure
          >  select unit of measure from the drop down options

 •  Enter Cost per Unit
>  make sure to use the cost paid for the unit selected
ie.   $1.22 per ct (or gal, oz, tsp, etc.)

•  When data is entered, click the blue check mark at far right to"Save" ingredient

TIP: You can create several custom ingredients at one time by adding a new recipe called CUSTOM INGREDIENTS – and entering all your non-Sysco items at one time –into one recipe.  Then, those Custom Ingredients will be available in the green SEARCH INGREDIENTS button with all the Sysco Ingredients and Batch Recipes
