Why Am I Unable to Place a Trade?
Why Am I Unable to Place a Trade?
Updated over 6 months ago

There are several reasons why you might be unable to place a trade. Here are some potential issues:

  1. Direct Account Symbols: Direct accounts have unique trading symbols that are not immediately visible upon logging in. These symbols are marked with the suffix .() (dot ()). Standard forex pairs are not available on Direct accounts and vice versa. To view all available tradable symbols, right-click in the Market Watch area of the platform and select 'Show All'. For more details, refer to this article.

  2. Insufficient Margin: This occurs when the account does not have enough equity to open the desired position size. To resolve this, you will need to either add more funds to the account or reduce the exposure of existing open positions.

  3. Pending Orders Conditions: For pending orders, several criteria must be met:

    • The entry price must be set at least 3 pips (30 points) away from the current market price.

    • Stop losses and take profits must be set at least 3 pips (30 points) away from the entry price.

    • Buy limit orders must be placed below the market price.

    • Buy stop orders must be placed above the market price.

    • Sell limit orders must be placed above the market price.

    • Sell stop orders must be placed below the market price.

  4. Account Read-Only Status: For compliance reasons, an account may be set to read-only until we have verified certain information with the account holder.
